Though marijuana was once an off-limit topic when talking to moms–the times, they are a ‘changing. These days, it’s more than likely, if mom isn’t already into CBD-infused products, she’s curious about them. Actually, she might be talking her head off about the latest CBD product she saw online.

Over-40 consumers are the most rapidly increasing group of customers for cannabis products overall; obviously, lots of them are moms and grandmas. Millennial and Gen X moms also are likely to be aware of the latest beauty and wellness trends and open to natural, alternative treatments.

In fact, “feminist wellness” was an important, emerging industry trend with expansive, even explosive potential, according to trade nonprofit Global Wellness Institute’s annual Summit Report on Trends for 2018.

On blogs like The Stoner Mom, blogger Kathryn VanEaton reviews products and hosts a community network for other parents, with events and promotions.

So, with Mother’s Day only weeks away, don’t forget to stock CBD-infused gifts, as an option for mothers of all ages:

The Brothers Apothecary Hemp-Derived CBD Herbal Teas–Handcrafted in Portland, Oregon, these small batch, artisan teas are sourced from all local ingredients and blended to bring relaxation, pain relief, and calming effects.

Natural and organic, flavors include Golden Dream, Mellow Mint, Buddha’s Berry, Chai Awakening, Highbiscus, Mystic Kava Root, Oolong Passion, Cosmic Cleanse, and Sensualitea.

Each extra-large tea bag makes up to three cups and contains between 60-70mg of hemp-derived, full-spectrum CBD infusion, as well as “an organic coconut base, including sustainably sourced coconut milk powder, to increase bio-availability of our cannabinoids.”

While retailers are limited by local and state regulations that may not allow special promotions or consumption events, stores can always host a traditional Mother’s Day Tea. Offer customers hot and iced non-infused teas, with a small buffet of finger sandwiches or sweet treats, from a local bakery. Decorate with a fresh spring theme, while putting female-centric products front and center.

At TheBrothersApothecary.com, $15.00 MSRP.

Geovana CBD–This line is “formulated specifically by women, for women,” and includes tinctures, capsules, and teas that target aches and pains associated with period stress, as well as menopausal symptoms.

The high strength, 1,500mg tinctures and capsule formulations are “free from GMOs, pesticides, chemicals, artificial flavors, preservatives, or any other type of disruptive chemical compound.” Broad spectrum CBD extract is combined with botanicals associated with traditional feminine remedies, including evening primrose oil, and extracts of Chasteberry and Clary sage.

For retailers, a line of products like Geovana gives customers a selection of products targeted at a specific health issue. While unlikely to come in complaining of cramps or hot flashes, by displaying these products together with ingredient information and grouped near other female-forward items, customers may be more apt to ask about their use.

At GeovanaCBD.com, starting at $39.00 MSRP.

Hora Skincare–This select skincare line is super luxe and packed full of botanical ingredients for full-spectrum anti-aging and rejuvenating effects. Hora’s Super Serum and Overnight Mask are all that’s needed for a CBD-infused facial regime that also treats the skin to natural extract of evening primrose, vitamins, marine collagen, hyaluronic and salicylic acids, and borage, argan, and MCT oils.

Keep it simple for Mother’s Day and give the Hora Gift Set ($120.00 MSRP), which includes one of each formulation, as well as a jade or quartz roller used for facial massage to encourage circulation, pain relief, and lymphatic drainage, which reduces puffiness and inflammation.

CBD retailers should keep in mind that, since the dawn of the selfie and cellphone cameras, everyone wants to look their best. Skincare has taken on all-new importance and most women have at least three or more skincare products they use regularly, to get that camera-ready glow.

At HoraSkincare.com, starting at $22.00 MSRP.

New Highs 2,000mg CBD–For women (or anyone) seeking increased effects for pain relief, calming, or overall wellness, this formula packs a potent dose of full-spectrum CBD oil with pleasantly mild taste and aroma. Multi-use, the oil can be applied topically for targeting aches and pains, and as tincture for sublingual use or added to beverages or other ingestibles (try some in salad dressing!). Each sleekly-designed dropper bottle contains 60 doses of full-spectrum CBD, with approximately 33mg per dose. The only other ingredient is coconut (MCT) oil, which helps with absorption.

While not specifically a female-focused product, New Highs was developed by a woman and longtime cannabis industry professional Sarah Remesch. Recognizing that many customers require more than a microdose in order to benefit from using CBD, Remesch brings her expertise and experience to the table.

At NewHighsCBD.com, $215.00 MSRP.

Ther-a-peu-tic Treats CBD Chocolate Bars–What mom (or human) doesn’t like chocolate? Infused with hemp-derived CBD, these deliciously all-natural bars come in more than a half-dozen flavors, with regular (60mg) and extra-strength (120mg) dosages. Caramel Coconut Drizzle, Peach Hazelnut, Peanut Butter and Honey, Pomegranate Vanilla Bean, Raspberry and Cinnamon, Strawberry Cocoa Swirl, and Sea-Salted Strawberry, plain dark, milk, and white chocolates–need we say more?

While THC-infused sweets and candies are easy to come by, CBD-only options–not so much. That makes these bars a nice addition to any retailers’ selection. If you offer infused gift baskets, these bars are an absolute must.

At TheraTreats.com, starting at $17.99 MSRP.
