The Buzz of Hemp
Industry leaders encouraged farmers and entrepreneurs to think beyond growing hemp solely for CBD as the commodity is a sustainable crop ideal for fiber, building materials, food, fuel and other industrial purposes.

“We’re charting the course for the next evolution of hemp,” explains Morris Beegle, Southern Hemp Expo show Producer.

“Thanks to the Farm Bill legislation, it is now legal for farmers to grow hemp, which has opened the eyes of the entire agriculture community. They are taking an interest to learn more about the plant from soil to stalk. The time is now and the Southern Hemp Expo and the upcoming NoCo Hemp Expo provide valuable insight for anyone who has an interest in all things hemp.”

This year’s SHE event featured a sold-out business conference and an industry day with a business-to-business expo hall on Friday, September 6. The popular and sold-out Farm Symposium was open to the general public, which was held on Saturday, September 7, all coinciding with over 150 exhibitors, educational seminars, workshops, and demonstrations.

Expo attendees received up-to-date information about federal and state legislation and regulations, current trends in CBD and hemp supplements; the latest developments in processing, technology and innovation; certification, market research, compliance, and lab testing; breeding, genetics, seeds and clones and more.
