While Cannabis has been humorously incorporated into the hit Netflix series Grace and Frankie, one of its stars is getting serious about CBD. Longtime actress and activist Jane Fonda has partnered with Uncle Bud’s, a hemp and CBD producer. Uncle Bud’s product line includes topicals, hand sanitizers, and infused pet products.

“I’m excited to partner with Uncle Bud’s,” Fonda said. “Wellness has always been incredibly important to me and these hemp-based products recently caught my attention. They’re eco-friendly, cruelty-free, and, most importantly, effective!”

Fonda is using Uncle Bud’s while staying “safer at home” due to COVID-19 and said its products have “been helpful in me keeping my groove while I’ve been home.” In a video posted on her Instagram account, Fonda applies Uncle Ben’s lip balm and hemp body lotion.

Partnering with the iconic Fonda seemed to make perfect sense for Uncle Bud’s.

“It was really simple for us to decide that Jane Fonda would be the next ambassador for Uncle Bud’s,” said company Co-Founder Garrett Greller. “Her activism and values align with the company, and there is no question that she is an icon of health and wellness both past and present. It was truly a no brainer, and we can’t wait to share what’s in store.”

Fonda was not necessarily on the lookout to form a partnership with a CBD company but was won over after trying Uncle Bud’s products and is drawn to the company’s socially conscious efforts during the coronavirus pandemic.

“They reached out to me, thinking the alignment between them and me made sense,” Fonda said. “I wasn’t so sure in the beginning. Then I tried the products out for a few months, and I really like ’em. I like the skin creams; I like the aching muscle creams, I like the lip balm, I like the hand sanitizers, I like the fact they were giving free hand sanitizers to a homeless youth organization. And I think they work.”

Although she was a fan of the products, Fonda needed to know more about Uncle Bud’s operations before deciding to partner with the company.

“If it wasn’t a U.S.-made product and eco-friendly and animal-kind, I wouldn’t have gone near them,” she said.
